About Us
In 1990, after transitioning out of the Navy, I decided to get my first dog, a Boxer named Lady. At that time, I was unfamiliar with Boxers, but my veterinarian encouraged me to take her to the dog park, as he believed she was an excellent representation of the breed. To my surprise, I learned that Lady was the granddaughter of CH Candy Kisses Play Boy!
As my journey with Lady unfolded, I quickly realized that she was not only a beloved pet but also the catalyst for my deep affection for Boxers, thanks to her unique personality and characteristics. Inspired by this experience, I decided to welcome a second Boxer into my life, a classic brindle female named Lola. Unfortunately, Lola, being a classic brindle, was often referred to as "plain" during that time and never finished her championship. However, she played an essential role in further deepening my understanding and appreciation of the breed.
My passion for boxers continued to grow and in 2011, after 15 years of co-ownership and mentorship with Dr. Daniel Buchwald, D.V.M., I decided to rebrand my kennel, transitioning from Avalon Kennels to Venician Boxers, named in honor of Venice Beach, California, where I grew up. I am profoundly grateful for the guidance and knowledge I gained under Dr. Buchwald's mentorship, which continues to influence my program today.
Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, Venician Boxers is situated in the scenic southwest part of the state, surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes. Our mission is to preserve the boxer breed, adhering to its standard while fostering a commitment to responsible breeding practices.
